A journey back to the origins of a sartorial legend. In September 1999, Maurizio Talarico launched his very first tie collection, defining the codes of an elegance that would later be chosen by the highest institutional offices. Today, to celebrate the Maison’s 25th Anniversary, we reopen our historic archives with the 1999 Collection: an exclusive re-edition of the most iconic patterns from that era.
True to the tradition of those years, each tie is crafted from precious heavy silk (featuring jacquard weaves or traditional printing techniques), offering a rich hand feel and a distinctive drape with an authentic heritage character. Every piece is enhanced with a dedicated anniversary label and is the result of 45 minutes of meticulous hand-stitching in Italy. A true piece of history, designed to be worn and collected.

Style Tips
The use of heavy silk gives this collection a strong character, ideal for those who appreciate classic “power dressing”:
- Heritage Appeal: Whatever the chosen pattern (from regimental stripes to geometric motifs), the substantial nature of this tie calls for well-structured suits, such as worsted wool, pinstripe, or flannel tailoring.
- The Sculptural Knot: The heavier 1990s silk creates a rich, voluminous knot. A classic Four-in-Hand is recommended, tightened firmly to form the signature central dimple, while avoiding double knots that would become overly bulky.
- Collector’s Detail: The commemorative label makes this tie a true connoisseur’s piece, also ideal as a prestigious gift.
Care Instructions
- Unknotting: At the end of the day, never remove the tie by pulling the narrow blade. Always untie it gently, carefully reversing the steps used to create the knot.
- Resting: Allow the tie to rest loosely rolled on itself or hung for at least 24 hours. This allows the fibres of the heavy silk to naturally relax and recover their shape.
- Cleaning & Ironing: Professional dry cleaning only. Never press the tie flat with a household iron, as heat and pressure would damage the sartorial edges and the three-dimensional structure of the fabric.
